alexisonfire

thankfully last minute i found someone to go to the show with and lucky for me i was able to see alexisonfire tonight. i know that most people don't like this type of music, as for me i do listen to some of the hardcore/screamo stuff. my love for music stretches too wide to be completely closed off to hardcore or screamo based bands. although i'm not a fan of musicals, opera or classical i can appreciate that they have helped mold or shape the music world and some of the artists i love. at slims there are always several opening bands before the main group comes out and tonight was no different. there were 3 bands that opened but i don't have much to say except there were several songs i did enjoy but most of it i could have done without. aside from the music i did witness one of the singers swing the microphone around and around to which it finally landed upside the head of a crowd member. not only did it hit like a ton of bricks but the sound echoed through the speakers and somehow the dude was unfazed by this massive blow to the head. it didn't matter to him or to me cause once dallas green took the stage all was right in the world again. it's an understatement for me to say that dallas green's vocals add a unique and soulful spin to the band we know as alexisonfire, but yet there you have it. his guitar skills and voice prevailed through even the screamiest of hardcore songs. dallas is the man!! he and the entire band of misfits whaled as they rocked out across the entire stage. when the show came to a close i was left in awe from the amazing talent we'd just witnessed. thanks for coming to the bay and gracing us with your loud and noisy presence!
