tonight i went with peter and a few other friends to say goodbye to family tradition. not my family tradition but the family tradition of the griffin's and a few other families i know. we arrived to sam wo around 10:30pm and were not seated for nearly 2 hours because so many people came out to partake in saying goodbye and show their support.
sam wo is a prime example of the typical hole in the wall joint that so many of us would take one look at and move right on to the next option instead of giving them a chance. i bet if someone told you that this restaurant has the best won ton soup around and that you can tast bbq pork noodle rolls that you couldn't find anywhere else that you may see this hold in the wall in a different light. i love sam wo but i can appreciate the fact that it's dirty or the fact that you walk into the kitchen before reaching your table destination. this place has been serving food for the past 100 years so of course it's run down and unpleasing to the eye. if you can't stomach looking at it then why can't you just find another place to patron and let sam wo customers enjoy this hidden gem in peace? instead it's been determined that sam wo needs to close because they can't afford to pay for renovations. i'd like to have a talk with whomever thought shutting down sam wo's was a good idea. did you know you are ruining the lives of so many sam wo faithfuls and i think you should be ashamed of yourself. maybe if you had taken time to experience the greatness of their bbq pork wrapped inside of a house made rice noodle you too would be singing a different tune.
sorry, i know i've posted this video before but it's worth posting again just in case you missed out the first time.
