what to do in san francisco on such a gorgeous day??  sailing.. duh!!  i'm grateful that i was able to spend it relaxing on a boat with friends sailing the bay.  thanks to all who attended for a lovely time, even if the wind wasn't on our side it was a blast.

go fly a kite

tonight i drove to san francisco to hit up amoeba for the new ben kweller album called go fly a kite.  i know i'm behind on the times since i still purchase actual cds over mp3s.  i just can't let go, i love everything about the hands on experience of buying a cd from the unwrapping of the cellophane, viewing all the artwork after opening the case and of course the actual cd itself. i could go on but i'll stop.  anyhow i'm excited to check out the cd over the next few days so i can become familiar with these new jams.  it was great to see ben tonight but it's always a little hard to get completely into a show when you don't know the music but even without knowing roughly half the songs ben put on a solid show.  his voice was terrific live and he even played a few songs that i knew off his other albums.  after seeing him tonight and having a few months to become familiar with his new songs i look forward to seeing him in april at the great american music hall.

somebody i used to know

what a great song!!  gotye did this one right and adding kimbra has only enhanced the likeability.  roughly 2 years ago i discovered kimbra thanks to a friend who introduced me to her voice.  i have posted a song of hers awhile back but i thought this new fun song should be shared and even though she is only featured on this i think you too will enjoy it.

i typically don't like techno or house music so you will rarely find me listening to anything that fits that genre.  however this morning i didn't change the station when this song came on.  there was something about this song that drew me in and makes me really want to love it.
