BIG MAMMA SPECIAL
this is a terrible picture of my greasy but super wonderful brunch on the go from roscoe's in long beach. potatoes & gravy, cheesy eggs and a biscuit. seriously i'm not sure what they do to those cheesy eggs to make them so fantastic but they are the best eggs around.
... this is the blog of a girl who likes to eat and often turns that function up!

la sandia
an afternoon of shopping in santa monica at the promenade makes for some hungry ladies so we decided to stop in at La Sandia for lunch. i ordered the chicken zarape since it was recommended to my by both the employees i asked what their favorite dishes were. the dish was chicken with bacon, pico de gallo, cotija and chipotle sauce served with refried black beans and creamy white rice.
after the hype and recommendations on this dish i was sorely disappointed on what was delivered. the chicken while draped in sauce was dry and majorly lacking flavor. the black beans were fine but also needed help in the flavor department. to me the star of the dish was the creamy white rice despite the fact i didn't feel like it belonged at a mexican restaurant.

12 best cookies in san francisco
here is the list of the 12 best cookies in san francisco from 7x7sf. i can only vouch for 2 on the list since that's all i've tried but i will recommend both the cookies & cream and gingersnap cookies listed.
9) Cookies and cream from Anthony's
Anthony Lucas' Mission shop switches up the cookie roster daily. But his regulars won't let him take away the cookies-and-cream flavor, specked with semi-pulverized Oreo chunks and perfect with a cold glass of Straus milk.

wing stop fail
why does wing stop hate me?? i'm a loyal fan and i eat it often. is it too much to ask that they don't serve me burned rolls or soggy fries? also, why did you think it was alright to keep a batch of burned dinner rolls in the first place?

701 Pennsylvania Ave.
701 was the perfect send off and last meal to end my trip to DC. surprisingly my favorite part of the meal was the cauliflower soup with golden raisins, capers and curry oil. i'm gonna try to find some way to re-create this so i can enjoy it at home.
this steak was a little underdone for me but i did finish every bite so i guess i can't complain.
these desserts are nothing to write home about and if i'd known better i may have ordered another bowl of soup instead.

Bon Appétit!
took a quick tour of the american history museum in DC. of course i had to stop off and pay respects to julia child and all her wonderful achievements.
