1+1= a hawaiian shaved ice

thank you soft serve serving man and both little guys at the snow cone shack for accepting our flirts and for hooking liz and i up.  well really we hooked ourselves up but we had to do a little flirting to make our idea come to life.  liz and i were on the same wave link and both wanted hawaiin shaved ice and we sweet talked our way into making it happen.  we ordered a soft serve cup split into 2 cups and then ordered a snow cone across the way and had them split it into our cups on top of the ice cream.  it wasn't nearly as great as the real thing but it did the trick for the evening.

the tiny dancer and i decided to stop off at tartine bakery and pick up dessert before heading back to her place for dinner.

today i got to hang out with the tiny dancer and it worked out perfectly since she lives in the city that we were able to knock on more place off the list.  here is a picture of our fresh stretched mozzarella and margarita pizza at pizzeria delfina.  the bread stick in the bottom left was literally a stick and it was served with some olive oil and dried spices to add flavor.  the mozzarella alone makes me want to go back and order one just for myself.  it was paired with some perfectly toasted bread, arugula drizzled with olive oil and it was outstanding!!  the mozzarella was great on its own but when added with the other elements it tipped the scales to making it my favorite part of the meal.  the pizza is was was actually on the list of must try before you die but let me tell you, if you go please don't skip out on ordering the cheese!  the pizza was delightful and their sauce was extremely fresh & light and it tasted exactly how sauce should be.

i need to know before i go

dear brand new,

i would love to see your show at the regency ballroom on saturday september 10th but before i commit can you please tell me your set list.  i just don't think i can pay money to see you again if all you you will play are tracks off daisy.  if you promise to play all the songs off your deja entendu cd as well as fork & knife you can count me in!

J – jonesing for jarrod.  i’m not sure what words could help you understand how excited i was or how nervous i got as the days drew closer to this evening.  i was a mess and i literally turned into one of those pre-teen girls you see screaming and crying (yes at the same time) over justin bieber.  seriously i am thinking about how lame i must have looked to him.  let’s put this into perspective, i’m a grown 31 year old women who was unable to contain myself.  really??  why couldn’t i have been cool and collective for a few hours and then released the beast once her left?  there went my hopes/dreams i once had of us becoming friends and quickly put in the crazed stalker category.

A – all around amazed!!  even this picture shows how cool he is.  not only his voice but his personality and his willingness to not take life too seriously.  he laughed at himself, cracked a few jokes and even yelled out the word burrito when he messed up the lyrics.

R – ridiculously adorable

R – rare to find such an incredibly talented artist that somehow sounds better live with no frills or enhancement than on an album, how RAD is that?

O – outstanding well written lyrics from the heart

D – don’t think that anything from here on will satisfy!!

1 day to go..

yes i started these posts only 9 days ago but for me it feels a lot like an eternity has past while leading up to this event.  i am stoked that the day has nearly arrived.
